
Fany DeJesus Hannon is the Director of the Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center at the University of Connecticut, Storrs Campus. In her role as a Director, she develops a variety of programs that focused on the diverse Latinx community with a holistic approach. In addition to directing the center, she also teaches a course on Latinx, Leadership and Education as part of the METAS (Mentoring, Educating, and Training for Academic Success) program, a graduate course on Student Development. She is a diversity trainer for state mandated training in Spanish and has developed other trainings on cultural competence, diversity and creating inclusive and welcoming environments for student organizations on campus. She serves on several task forces and advisory boards across campus. In 2016, the Univision Network in Hartford recognized Fany as one of ten individuals as “Nuestro Orgullo Hispano” for her contributions to the fast growing Latinx Community at UConn and in the State of Connecticut.
